“I am so happy now that money comes to me in increasing quantities, through multiple sources on a continual basis.”
I learned about the author Bob Proctor after watching the film “The Secret”. I love personal development books and have always believed if you apply the content, it has the power to transform your life.
The Secret was a very successful film about the law of attraction: this is the Universal Law that allows you to manifest what you want in your life. In other words, you can use your mind to attract or manifest what you desire.
I thought at that time, if it was that easy to manifest a million pounds, why is there so much poverty? Despite this, the film inspired me to delve deeper into the law of attraction and why some people seem to have a life full of joy and happiness; while others continue to experience scarcity.
I found the answer listening to Bob Proctor’s audiobook “It’s not about the Money”. The results we are achieving in life are governed by our paradigm. The paradigm is rooted in the subconscious mind: this is the part of the mind that controls our behaviour and results. A paradigm is basically a collection of ideas that have been imposed on the subconscious mind. For example, when you learn to drive a car: continuous practice is needed initially to learn new skills such as changing gear, indicating, steering and observing the road while driving.
The conscious mind is needed at first to learn the new skills, but after practicing repeatedly, these skills are learned and stored in your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is vast and stores the information as memory, so it can be accessed quickly and easily.
The subconscious mind runs in the background below the level of conscious thought. Learning to drive is a useful skill to master; bad habits however, have been created in the same way as any other learning process: they have been practiced, learned and stored in the conditioned mind.
For the first five years of your life, you had no ability to reject or filter ideas and concepts coming into your subconscious mind; the conscious mind had not been developed at that stage. Ideas, thoughts and belief-systems were programmed directly into your subconscious mind without you having the ability to moderate or challenge them. The subconscious mind does not have the ability to reject ideas; so for the first five years of life our paradigm was shaped by society, environmental factors, religion, education, culture, the media and family influences.
The paradigm controls your results because the “Law of attraction” responds to your paradigm. The secret to mastering “the law of attraction” is changing your current paradigm.
How do you Change your paradigm?
The paradigm is changed by swapping one idea for another. The new idea has to be reinforced through conscious repetition. As the new idea is repeated over and over, it builds momentum. As more energy and focus is given to the new idea/habit, the old idea collapses due to lack of energy. The new idea has to be reinforced over and over again, so it is fixed into your subconscious mind. The new idea replaces the old idea in your paradigm.
A way of changing the paradigm is to first identify something you want to manifest. For example, to manifest abundance you can use this affirmation that Bob Proctor himself made up.
” I am so happy now that money comes to me in increasing quantities, through multiple sources on a continual basis.”
Through constant repetition and reinforcement, this affirmation is one way of changing your paradigm to a wealthy mindset.
