The ‘inner critic’
The ‘inner critic’ is that negative voice in your head that criticises, judges and attempts to sabotage your life experience. In challenging situation’s this voice seems louder highlighting your insecurities, fears and doubts about yourself.
The ‘inner critic’ is only ever really a problem when you listen to it for too long and engage with the story. Most people have a story that they identify with that the ‘inner critic’ uses to play in the mind.
This voice is normally triggered by something that is happening to you now that resonates with certain themes from your past. When you start to believe the ‘inner critic’ and mistake it’s point of view as your own, life becomes very challenging and serious.
How could I be so stupid?
When you interact and believe the ‘inner critic’, you take on board these self critical thoughts. When triggered, the ‘inner critic’ uses your memory to generate similar thoughts, feelings and behaviour’s that have all happened in the past.
