Building momentum in 2018 – A New beginning
I think you will agree with me when I say the hardest thing about blogging is getting started and building momentum.
Without understanding how momentum really works, starting a blog can be tough. Most bloggers procrastinate and never get their blog off the ground.
The word momentum relates to movement or an object in motion. Building momentum means to really drive your blog forward and start achieving faster results with less effort in the long run.
This blog post is going to show you how I have learned to build momentum in the moment. I went from failing my school exams to passing two university degrees.
It was only after reading a Tony Robbin’s book: ‘Awaken the Giant within’ that I fully understood how this concept could be applied to achieving goals and maximising productivity levels.
Decision-making is the process of selecting certain goals that you want to achieve. It is important that you choose goals that you want to work towards in 2018. These goals fall into these categories:
- Physical and mental health and fitness
Work and financial goals
Family and relationships
Your Vision and Goals for 2018
It is important to get crystal clear and really narrow down what you want to achieve. What is important to you? What makes you feel good? Identifying your smaller and larger goals is something that only you can do.
What area of your life needs expansion? The secret to finding this out, is what is it that excites you the most? What is it that is most important to you? What are you most passionate about?
If you had succeeded in achieving all of your goals (including your larger vision) at the end of this year, how would you feel? How would this have changed your life for the better?
This great feeling will help propel you forward when challenges come up and you need motivation.
Momentum conquer’s procrastination
When you have identified your main goals and vision for 2018, then it’s time to get started. Start working on your larger goals by breaking them down into smaller mini-goals. It is a good idea to plan ahead, think about what action you can take to get you moving in the right direction.
Start by taking little steps regularly towards your goals. The energy you put into this will gradually build momentum. Do not become obsessed with your results or achieving the end result.
Have faith that the results will come because it is the momentum that is going to propel you forward.
Commit to taking action
Whatever you are doing, give it your full attention. The quality of your work will always be better if you are focused and in a positive state of mind.
Commit to taking consistent action on a regular basis. If you accidentally take a wrong turn, then you can figure out a way of getting back on track.
With a positive mindset, it is much easier to solve problems and get back on track.
Take it easy!
